Fall Prevention vs Fall Protection: A New Safety Category

Prevention through design, combined with new training, is helping organizations save time, money, and most importantly, lives. Every day nearly 2,000 people are injured while using a ladder, and as many as 100 of them will suffer a long-term disability. Today, one person will die in a ladder-related accident. Three of OSHA's top ten 'serious' violations in 2015 (#1, #3, #7) were related to falls. Reducing the number of ladder-related injuries is becoming tiop priority for the nation's foremost companies. This session covers how to: reduce the three most common kinds of ladder-reltated accidents and injuries; identify recent advancements in climbing equipment that will reduce risks on the job; improve workplace safety training by utilizing free live and online resoureces; and demonstrate teaching techniques that will improve safety training among coworkers.
