7 ETCP renewal credits $425 ($525 after 9/15) lunch included Class Limit: 40 New technology like LED, switch-mode power supplies, and other non-linear loads are presenting interesting challenges for the entertainment electricians. This class will cover topics like harmonics, power factor, and voltage distortion, and present case studies involving real world problems and solutions. A solid knowledge of electricity, Ohm's law, and power formulas is required to join this class. Bring a calculator with trigonometry functions, something to write with, and a penchant for learning new information. Target Audience: Strong intermediate to advanced electricians, technicians, engineers, and consultants. Session Highlights: Advance Topics Non-linear loads and effects on power systems Power factor, harmonics, voltage distortion, neutral currents, and more Hard versus soft systems HMTs, de-rating, and other solutions to real-world power problems Taught by: Tyrone Mellon, Mitch Hefter, and Ken Vannice
