See L51-UF) Core training for TD's, the Technical Director Boot Camp combines four different sessions in a full-day of training that will prepare anyone for the duties and responsibilities as a technical director. Whether you're curious to start as a TD, or interested in brushing up on some advanced techniques, this special workshop will benefit technical directors of all levels. Session Highlights: Session 1: Excel at Excel! The basics of spreadsheet use for technical director Learn effective strategies for designing spreadsheets for tracking resources Master the mystery of dates and times, three-dimensional calculation planning, forcing consistent data entry, and conditional formatting. Function more effectively in Microsoft Excel Move data three-dimensionally through a spreadsheet Deisgn an effective Excel spreadsheet to assist with everyday applications Session 2: Simple Translation! Making things go back and forth Explore the basic problem-sloving process for technical elements of a production that move horizontally, such as wagons, slip stages and turntables Analyze the motion profile of a given situation Devise a minimum of three, rational solution sets that would provide the necessary motion Session 3: Oh Snap! The basics of AutoCAD use for the technical director Effective strategies for using AutoCAD for solving common problems that many TDs face on a regular basis Function more effectively in AutoCAD Draw lines, circles and arcs with greater efficiency Improve use of edit commands to create desired objects Session 4: An Uplifting Experience! Make things go up and down Explore the basic problem-solving process for techncal elements of production that do not move horizontally, such as elevators and fly systems (we'll cover the basics, and then explore situations brought by workshop participants) Learn to analyze the motion profile of a given situation Devise a minimum of three, rational solution sets that would provide the necessary motion Target Audience: All technical directors, production managers, facility managers, students, and professors.
