Re-Imagining Broadway South of the Border: Collaborative Design in Mexico
New York based lighting designer Jason Kantrowitz (Mexico productions of Young Frankenstein, Peter Pan, Sweet Charity, The Producers, Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Besame Mucho) joins Mexico-based set designer Sergio Villegas (Mexico productions of Annie, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, The Sound of Music, Godspell, I Am my Own Wife and The Black Dahlia) in exploring new and recent collaborations of Broadway hits beautifully replicated for Spanish-language productions playing Mexico City. An exciting number of theatrical designs are being re-imagined to engage the energy, culture and creativity of Latin American autdiences.
