Ethernet For Entertainment
3.5 ETCP renewal credits $395 ($495 after 9/15), includes lunch Class Limit: unlimited Essential hands-on Ethernet training: Here's a class where you can learn (or begin to learn) everything you need to build an Ethernet network for lighting control,as the industry is transitioning from DMX-512 to Ethernet in many instances. Learn about copper cable and RJ-45 connectors, and learn how to put them on a cable, fiber optic cable and connectors (and learn how to put those connectors on). Then you will learn how to test these cables and fix them if they are bad. Then you will plug your cables into an Ethernet switch and learn (the basics) of programming a switch. Finally, you will learn how this can control lighting fixtures and actually control a fixture with the cables you made... and you can take the cables home with you, if you want. Session Highlights: The history of Theatrical Lighting Control Copper cables and connectors: learn to assemble 10GX category 6a data cable and field-installable RJ-45 connectors Learn how to put on a fiber connector and multi-mode fiber assemblies Cable testing with Fluke meters Learn to install an Ethernet switch and program the switch for theatrical lighting applications.
