Doug Steel, Ph.D. is the Founder and Creative Director of DaVinci’s Workshop Inc. The company exists at the intersection of neuroscience, technology, and design, and develops things that shape immersive experiences. His core expertise is in understanding neurosensory processing – the way that the brain processes information about our surroundings to shape our experiences, memories, and how we feel. For the past 20 years he has been involved in the identification, development, and commercialization of emerging biotechnologies that has led to the founding of five companies. He has over 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical drug design and discovery, and research project management and implementation divided between academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Doug holds a Ph.D. (Biomedical Sciences) from Columbia University, an M.Phil. (Pathology) from Columbia, an M.S. (Psychobiology) from the University of Florida, and a B.A. (Biology) from Kalamazoo College.
