TAIT
Ted Moore
Director of Rental Services
Ted’s first contact with the stage came from working at the Humberside Theatre in Hull as a lighting technician. He developed an interest in technical theatre and moved on to study in London with the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT), graduating as a qualified electrician. He was appointed lighting operator at the Wyndhams Theatre and was subsequently offered a position as the chief electrician at the Albery Theatre. An opportunity he could not refuse arose to tour the globe with the English Shakespeare Company as a lighting electrician. Following this, Ted worked with John Hastie on a variety of automation projects and in 1994 he became Stage Technologies first official employee.
In 2004, Ted was appointed director of rental services and since then has played a significant role in developing the rentals aspect of Stage Technologies business. In the course of his career, Ted has worked on lighting, automation and rigging systems for touring gigs, live and filmed TV, film shoots, corporate events and conferences, finding that his in‐depth knowledge has become increasingly in demand.
Ted is responsible for steering Tait's rental department, leading a team of experienced automation engineers in design, system preparation and installation for large‐ and small‐scale rental projects. His main priority is to work side‐by‐side with clients to provide the ideal technical solution for their requirements. He also supervises administration and resources and ensures high quality standards and professional management of all rental projects. Ted is closely involved in the development of emerging business in the rental sector and continues to expand and broaden potential product applications throughout the theatre industry and other live entertainment markets.
He is a member of the Association of British Theatre Technicians.
