Jerry Gorrell was a lighting designer and technical director for over 50 years. He retired from the City of Phoenix, Theatre Division, technical director position in 20006. He is the principal in his own entertainment industry safety industry consulting firm, Theatre Safety Programs, which provides safety training, consulting services, and expert services for the entertainment industry. He serves as USITT Standards Committee Chair and a member of the ESTA Technical Standards Council, as well as a member of several ESTA Technical Standards Program working groups. Jerry is an ETCP recognized trainer, a USITT Fellow, and recipient of the 2007 USITT International Health and Safety Award. He is a member of two NFPA Technical Committees, American Society Safety Engineers, Illuminating Engineering Society, International Association of Electrical Inspectors, and IATSE Local 829 United Scenic Artists and IATSE Local 336.
