Stephen Vanciel is the president of I.A.T.S.E. Local 631 serving all of central Florida and Walt Disney World. He is a member of the ESTA Technical Standards Electrical Power, Fog&Smoke, and Followspot Positions Working Groups. Steve has been involved with the Entertainment Technician Certification Program since its inception. He is a Certified Entertainment Electrician, ETCP Recognized Trainer and SME for the electrical exam. Steve retired this year after twenty-six years with Walt Disney Entertainment to focus on union and training activities. In a previous life, he was a university professor and holds a master’s degree in theatre from Illinois State University.
