Steve Terry
VP Research & Development
Steve Terry is the Vice President of Research & Development at Electronic Theatre Controls, where he leads the group that is responsible for global development of new products. Steve maintains an active involvement in the international lighting industry. He founded the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) National Electrical Code Committee in 1980 and was its original chair. This committee has authored many successful changes to the theatrical and motion picture/TV sections of the US National Electrical Code. He was appointed a member of National Electrical Code Panel 15 in 1994. He chaired the USITT Committee that wrote the internationally-accepted DMX512 standard for digital communications in lighting systems in 1986, and was inducted as a Fellow of the USITT in 2006. Steve is currently a member of the PLASA Governing Body, the PLASA Technical Standards Council, and the PLASA Electrical Power Working Group. He is also an ETCP Certified Electrician and an ETCP Recognized Trainer.
