Ann Archbold
Professor, Head of Lighting
Professionally, she has designed lighting for over 500 events for theatre, industrials, opera, dance, live concerts and television throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Her design work includes productions for The Malta International Arts Festival, The Old Globe Theatre, Madison Repertory Theatre, Forward Theater, San Francisco Opera Center, Cadillac, Audi, and Elk Mountain Resort. Best known for her industrial designs for Auto Shows, her work is featured in the current edition of Scene Design and Stage Lighting by Craig Wolf and Dick Block (2013). Her work was also exhibited in the World Stage Design Gallery (Toronto, 2005). She has authored several articles for Live Design and a chapter profile on lighting designer Martin Aronstein in Late & Great: American Designers 1960-2010 publication for the 50th Anniversary of USITT. She has been Chair of the Department of Theatre and Drama at UW since 2007.
